If you could remove one thing from your life what would you choose? A pain or struggle, negativity, bad habit, a certain person, health ailment, heartache. I have begged God to remove a certain something from my life for years.
Weeds love to take root in the sandy foundation of our brick sidewalk. They are almost impossible to pull. After a heavy downpour I was walking down the sidewalk. Irritated by the weeds, I reached down to pull on it and it eased right out with little resistance. Next thing I knew I had weeded the entire walkway.
Here’s how God spoke to my heart through that experience.
We’ve been getting some real downpours! When storms roll in to my life, my first response is to ask God to remove the storm. Often, instead of removing the storm, God chooses to walk me through the storm. Something about the walking through the storm process changes me!
The storms expose my weeds; leave behind a humbled heart; develop a lack of resistance to what the Heavenly Father is doing. He uses storms to mold us into the women and men He desires us to be.
What storm has rolled into your life? What weeds could this storm uproot? Tell God you trust Him to use the storm for His good which is always for your good!
Lord, if this is a necessary storm, please graciously walk with me through, give me eyes to see the weeds, train my heart to respond appropriately and may I walk out my Christian life well. Amen!
