Peace Rules My Heart!

I am leaving the world issues behind as I head off for a diagnostic colonoscopy.  I realize this is more information than most of you need and I don’t want to alarm or present this as more than it may be but I want to share my experience of complete peace as I face this day.

On an empty digestive system, I started my morning as normal reading the Bible, chatting with God and I even cranked up the volume on a few worship songs.

Not one ounce of worry exists in my being.  I am fully surrendered to a trustworthy God no matter what this day holds.  I am experiencing an attitude of peace (an internal sense of rest, calm and security).

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 6 – 7 (NIV)

I can only experience such internal peace because I have first experienced peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ!  I have been justified through faith.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.  Romans 5 (NIV)

Whether you are facing medical diagnosis, political concerns, financial burdens, relationship matters, pain, loss, or grief you cannot experience true peace outside of a relationship with the Prince of Peace.  Only then are we in the position to experience an attitude of peace for our circumstances.

Would you like to know the peace of Christ?

If you are already in a relationship with Christ, let the peace of Christ rule in your heart, since as a member you were called to peace. (Colossians 3:15)
