It was still dark when my 5 am alarm went off and I immediately hit snooze. I repeated the pattern several times.
Once I finally slide out of bed, I quickly fell into my morning routine – sitting with a hot cup of coffee in my favorite chair with my Bible. You can imagine the conviction that poured over me when I read the following:
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? Proverbs 6: 6 – 11 (NIV)
I have committed one hour each morning to work on ministry. God consistently shows up to breathe into my heart through His word. Since some of my best ministry comes from my morning hour, you would think I would jump from my bed each morning and run into His arms to experience what He has for me. Instead, I fight my flesh daily. Each morning as my alarm goes off, I must choose obedience over catering to my flesh!
Who am I to allow laziness to deny God the opportunity to work through me? I cried out to God and recommitted my mornings. I long to be used by Him and exist to glorify His name!
Are you following through with your commitments to God? What is the next step you can take in obedience? Let’s step out in faith together and watch God move our mountains!
3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
