Great Goodness

Our Three Grands

I pushed my cart through the grocery store parking lot trying to remember where I parked.  My cart was filled with delightful snacks in preparation for a long weekend hosting our three grands as their parents took a much-needed break.  These were the type of snacks we do not usually bring into the house, and I would need to hide them to keep us from eating them all before their arrival.

We are not exhausted grandparents like some.  We are lonely grands.  Our children live out of state and we cherish opportunities to spend time together.  As I unloaded the groceries into my trunk, I was overcome with the knowledge of the goodness of God.  I broke out into praise right there in the parking lot!

I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousnessPsalm 145:5-7

David Jeremiah wrote: “God is good. But what does that mean—that God is good? The more I studied this word in the Bible, the more one central concept seemed to jump out: God’s goodness conveys His generosity. His goodness means far more than His generosity, but it certainly includes His infinitely generous attitude toward us. By nature, He longs to bring joy and blessing to all His creatures.”

We are told in 1 Chroinicles 16:34 to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!

Right now, meditate on three ways God’s goodness has impacted your life and give thanks to the Lord for His goodness.  Encourage others by sharing in the comments!
